I am a Person Centred Therapist.
Person Centred Therapy is a humanistic approach which is client centred i.e. I believe that the person sitting in front of me knows what hurts and knows what to focus on.
My job is to journey alongside you and take you deeper into your experience by creating a nourishing, safe, non judgemental environment.
We lift the lid on what has been suppressed and we gently explore it together. This helps you feel the emotion in a safe space and to gain new perspective/insight on events. Some people come with current distress e.g. relationship difficulty, others come with historical events e.g. child abuse or bullying at school. This modality can be applied to both.
There is no limit on this type of therapy. It is different for every person. Some people like to jump in at the deep end and do a lot, very quickly. Others want to take it slow. I will facilitate whatever feels right for you.
