The nature of working on the frontline is that we witness people’s stories on a daily basis and we collect them. Many of the stories involve tragedy, despair, injury and death. This slowly starts to impact our thoughts, our behaviours, how we view the world and ultimately, our mental health.
Therapy is a space totally dedicated to you for you to unearth some of those stories and how they have impacted you. To start to understand how to cope with images you may still have in your head and to feel more able to cope with the ongoing demands placed on you.
It will be time dedicated entirely to you without a need to monitor what you say. It is a safe and confidential space.
Together, we will work on your responses to events, understand your emotions and the impact they are having on your life and find ways to regulate them.
Effective therapy can improve your communication skills, help you manage stress, assist with processing traumatic events, alter negative behaviours, teach you how to be kind to yourself, resolve conflict and help build stronger relationships and build healthy habits.
